Join Lauren and explore the history of runes. From their origins within the Germanic tribes and Nordic cultures of Northern Europe to their enduring influence today, supporting practitioners in their healing, magic, and rituals.
Following this, participants will create individual sculptures, foraged from the surroundings. These will then be taken with ceremony to a location to create a semi-permanent, natural, communal art piece, that will stay for as long as nature intends.

A WILDER LIFE WORKSHOP
with Pridie Tiernan
Saturday 8th June
10:00 - 16:00
Cwmffrwd Farm Campsite
Brecon Beacons
Recommended age: 12+
Have you ever wondered what it was like when we really knew our natural world? When we could confidently cook and heal with foraged herbs..? When we could weave bark into baskets and wake fire with fungi..?
Pridie has a passion for ethnobotany - exploring how generations before us built a relationship with the land that meant they could survive and thrive.
During the day, we'll aim to do the same; walking the hedgerows to forage for both food and medicine, returning to wake the fire the old way and practising some of the skills that are no longer shared, like the crafting of baskets from tree bark and the making of balms for bumps and buises!
