Cwmffrwd Farm
land-conscious wild camping & accommodation
Tucked up on the south facing slopes of the Bannau Brycheiniog's Black Mountains between the rich pastures of the Rhiangoll Valley and the heather clad ridges of Waun Fach mountain, you'll find Cwmffrwd - a little hill farm gently working with the land to promote nature recovery and reconnect people with the natural world through practical and storied experiences.
Climb high up into the hills to blow the cobwebs of the modern world away, lie quietly in the meadows watching the clouds, stars, day drift by...or delve a little deeper into a world of flowers and folklore and discover how the sharing of ancestral skills and stories can help us rekindle our relationship with the natural world.
The farm and hayloft are open to visitors all year round. Our camping season is in the summer, but do get in touch if it looks full or unavailable as we don't put all our pitches on the booking system.

"We were seeking a quiet get away, we wanted peace, back to nature and being able to immerse ourselves in the Welsh countryside. We found that and much more at Cwmffrwd Farm Campsite! It's a real gem, the culmination of hard work, consideration and respect of nature by the owners Pridie and James. They have created a welcoming peaceful space where it is easy to unwind and relax. The facilities are perfect and Pridie is so knowledgeable about the area; really cares about her guests, nature and the campsite. We will, without a doubt, encourage others to visit this wonderfully tranquil place.' - Simon 2026
"We had an incredible stay with Pridie. We were warmly welcomed by her and her husband (as well as two friendly cats) and that was just the beginning of a wonderful stay. The farm is a truly magical place easy to wander around for hours, filled with plenty of animals, flowers, and trees. The Hayloft was very cozy and we had wonderful dinners watching the sunset outside. Pridie is an incredibly kind and engaging host and we took advantage of the opportunity to soak in all the knowledge we could about the local plant life and hidden stories of her home. There is plenty of space to walk around the farm, but we also enjoyed other hikes in the area, of which there are many options. Our stay with Pridie was an immersive experience and definitely one of our top travel memories. We highly recommend that you stay with her!" - David, 2026

"What an absolutely magical place. Everything you want in a campsite. Peaceful, beautiful, alive with nature. Would highly recommend for people who camp to experience the outdoors at its best."
"The perfect place to relax. The meadow was quiet, the bell tents far apart, the views spectacular! We adored the meadows - the farm has so much knowledge to hand on! "

"Such a gem! The surroundings are absolutely stunning and the hayloft is very comfortable and cosy. Pridie is by far the best Airbnb host we've had."
