 Sauna Sessions

at Cwmffrwd Farm

Squirrelled away in a secret part of the farm, our wood-fired sauna is an added luxury for guests to enjoy.

Spacious and boasting hot stones for a steam option and its own exhilarating cold drench shower, guests can also enjoy listening to beautiful birdsong and breathing deeply beneath a canopy of larch as they move between sauna and shower.

This is perfect place to relax and recover after a long walk in the mountains; boosting yourself body and soul with the simple pleasure of the invigorating sauna experience.

Guests staying on site in the campsite and the hayloft are very welcome to book the sauna. Sessions are one hour long.

All visitors to the farm are invited to walk and picnic during their visit :)

Helpful info:

We ask guests to arrive ten minutes before the booked session. On arrival, please park on the front yard (Oct - April) or in the campsite meadow carpark (May - Sept only). Ring the doorbell by the front gate to let us know you are here and we will guide you around to the sauna (and hayloft if you have also booked this) for a quick tour and chat before you hop in! Guests are also welcome to use the campsite washroom during their visit.

TO BOOK

To book, simply click on the button above to email Pridie :) Once a time has been arranged, we'll send a pdf with all the important info, terms and conditions and payment details. (Please note that full payment at the time of booking is requested in order to secure your sauna session and this is also confirmation that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions.)

Arrival

Please arrive at the farm ten minutes before your session begins, so we can fill everyone in on everything they need to know about the sauna experience. In the summer, guests can park in the meadow carpark. In the winter when the field is wet, guests can part on the front farm yard. Ping the door bell by the front gate to let us know you have arrived. Please note that there is only a small changing area in the entrance section to the sauna. Guests can also use the campsite washroom to get changed. There is also a toilet.

Using the sauna

We recommend sitting in the sauna for 10-15 minutes at a time, followed by a cold drench shower. There is a sand timer on the wall that guests can turn to measure how long they are in there. The most important thing is to relax and listen to your own body, everyone is different so you will know how long to stay in and when to go out. Do what feels right for you :)

Stove, stones & water

The stove is wood-burning and this will be laid and lit two hours ahead of your arrival. A ladle is provided to pour water onto the stones, and to wet your face. It's a good idea to have a water bottle, so you can keep hydrated.

What to bring

You'll need a towel to sit on in the sauna and to dry yourself. Please note that there is only a small curtained changing area in the entrance section to the sauna, but guests can also use the campsite washroom to get changed. The sauna has hooks outside and a space in the entrance section to store your things undercover. Flip flops are recommended for the outside area and shower, as no footwear is allowed in the sauna. Make sure you bring a bottle of water. and your swimwear if attending a communal sauna session.

Changing facilities

There is a small communal changing area, with hooks and space to store your things undercover, as you enter the sauna. Outside the sauna we have benches and hooks. We suggest you bring some warm layers of clothing to change into post-sauna. There is a toilet in the campsite washroom.

Temperature

Our sauna is typically 70 to 80 degrees Celsius.

Terms and conditions

Payment confirms you agree to the terms and conditions before entering the sauna. Please note that sessions cancelled less than two hours before the booked session cannot be rescheduled or refunded as we will have started to prepare the sauna.
