How does tuition work?
Single tutorial sessions can be arranged, or you can book a regular slot over a longer period. Sessions are usually one hour long, although longer slots can also be booked. Pridie travels to your home and brings all the resources required. She will request the email address of your child's teacher and will contact them before the first session to check the exam board specification/curriculum schedule to ensure that the work completed in every session compliments the work being completed in school.
What are the sessions like?
It is a good idea to have a look at the testimonials featured on the website and hear about what the sessions are like from students and parents themselves. The style of each tutorial varies according to the content to be covered. Pridie is experienced in matching student interest with the current topic and she engages each individual pupil through lively alternative approaches and weirder, wackier ways of understanding texts and learning key skills. A laptop is brought to every session so exam board specifications, past papers, mark-schemes and exemplars can be viewed at the touch of a button, along with revision websites and contextual detail relevant to the task in hand. She will also bring the appropriate textbooks and an assortment of planned activities to further support the work the student chooses to focus on in the session.
What do I do now?
Get in touch via the the website's contact page, letting us know a little bit about the type of English tuition you are seeking. We are Bristol based so it is also helpful if you can give an indication of the area you currently live in and the time slots you would be looking for during the week. Following this, Pridie will visit you to discuss your child's specific requirements in more detail so that future tutorial sessions can be carefully tailored to best suit your child's individual needs and - most importantly - their interests!
Duration of tuition?
When you first contact Pridie, it is helpful if you are able to state your desired course duration e.g. you are looking for a long-term arrangement, you need a tutor to help intensively before a trip abroad or you are looking for support ahead of forthcoming exams.
How much does it cost and how do we pay?
Sessions cost £30 per hour for students working at Key Stage 3, and £35 per hour for GCSE and A Level. Tutees usually pay per session and payment can be made either in cash or via bank transfer. Please discuss this in more detail with Pridie ahead of your first session.
.Are you DBS checked and insured?
